Progress to a degree at University of Sussex

When you complete your programme at the University of Sussex International Study Centre, you can progress to your chosen degree at the University of Sussex. Progression degrees include: 

Studying BA (Hons) Media and Communications you will: 

  • Understand the role the media plays in shaping our political, social and cultural worlds
  • Access facilities including a news room, edit suites and a sound-proofed studio
  • Study in Brighton, one of the fastest growing hubs for digital and creative media. 

Studying BA (Hons) Film Studies you will:

  • Develop the skills needed to understand how cinema entertains, informs and influences its audiences
  • Study Hollywood blockbusters, international art cinema and activist filmmakers
  • Choose the modules that interest you, from documentary and comedy to adaptations and musicals. 

Studying MA Media and Cultural Studies you will:

  • Study the press, broadcasting, film and digital media as institutions, texts and systems of representation
  • Engage in debates and explore the media’s political, social and cultural power in everyday life
  • Develop valuable skills such as critical analysis, creative thinking and research methods. 

Student life

The International Study Centre is based on the University of Sussex campus, which offers a unique combination of tranquillity and energy. It is surrounded by a beautiful national park, yet at the same time is just a short train journey from Brighton.

Brighton has fantastic transport links, so you'll easily be able to explore the rest of the UK and Europe.

Brighton is only 9 minutes on the train from University of Sussex campus. From there, you can reach Gatwick airport in 30 minutes and central London in one hour.
